3 days in Iceland in February – Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon (2nd day)
Ont he second day we wanted to visit glaciers but the weather prevented it. We couldn’t go out from Reykjavík because the city was closed. It snowed so heavily at night and in the morning that the roads were closed all morning. So we could look around a bit in the city and could try local bars.
The weather became much better in the afternoon so we could go away from Reykjavík. Our destination was the Blue Lagoon this afternoon. The blue Lagoon is a manmade geothermal spa in western Iceland.
It was in the same time a beautiful and unique experience. The black rocks and the blue and milky white colors of the water. The weather was freezing and it was stormy wind and rain. Can you imagine the feeling that you sit and swim in the warm water and the air temperature was above the water -10 celsius and your head freezes in the stormy wind. No, you can’t. So if you want to go Iceland, you should try it yourself, it worths.
The entry is relative expensive, but you can stay as long as you want in the spa. And it’s recommended to buy the tickets online in advance because it could be cheaper and you don't have to stay in the line.
If you want to take good pictures in the spa, it’s useful to take a waterproof camera with or waterproof case for your cell phone.
